After 22 years, Mr. Watase joined the established firm of Roquemore, Pringle & Moore, Inc. in November 2000. In a case where he defended the City of West Covina, 20 plaintiffs claimed that damage sustained to their homes by earth movement was caused by hydro-consolidation from a storm drain not properly maintained. After 1.5 weeks of trial, the case was settled. Though Mr. Watase has been involved in major probate, real estate, and business litigation, much of his extensive trial experience has been defending medical malpractice cases in the areas that include birth injuries, infant and adult brain injuries, disabilities and illnesses, and misdiagnoses.
As a founding partner, his practice at SNW is centered on the firm’s public entity defense, elder abuse, medical malpractice, as well as corporate and business litigation. He recently represented a homeowner in a complex litigation case in Diamond Bar involving two slope failures seven years apart on the same hillside where homeowners have been severely impacted.
In addition to his legal case work, Mr. Watase is a hearing officer for the Personnel Commission of the City of Montebello.
A veteran of the United States Army, he served a tour in Vietnam. Mr. Watase graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of California, Los Angeles and is a life member of the Phi Beta Kappa National Honor Society.
