Kari Kadomatsu

Senior Associate

Kari Kadomatsu is a member of the California State Bar and admitted to practice before all California Courts, as well as the United States District Court for the Central District Court of California. She received a JD/MBA with Certification in Environmental, Land Use and Real Estate Law from Chapman University School of Law. She returns to Seki Nishimura & Watase as a Senior Associate with a focus on defending public entities and public utility companies in matters involving general liability, personal injury and premise liability.

Background

Kari received her Juris Doctorate from Chapman University Fowler School of Law as well as a Master of Business Administration from Chapman’s Argyros College of Business & Economics.  She graduated cum laude with an undergraduate degree in Economics from University of California – Irvine.  Kari is admitted to the State Bar of California and Hawaii as well as the U.S. District Court (Central District).  

Practice areas

Her practice at Seki, Nishimura & Watase, PLC focuses on business transactions, public entity and public utility defense litigation, personal injury, as well as matters involving general civil litigation, family law and estate planning. Ms. Kadomatsu has also successfully appeared before the Social Security Administration Board.

Professional AFfiliations

In addition to her legal work, Kari is committed to being an active member of the legal community.  She serves as the Vice President of the Japanese American Bar Association and sits as a member of the Young Lawyers Committee affording her the opportunity to mentor law students and young lawyers.  She also serves as a liaison for JABA and the Los Angeles County Bar Association (LACBA).  She is also a member of the Orange County Bar Association (OCBA), the Asian Pacific American Bar Association (APABA), and the Association of Southern California Defense Counsel (ASCDC).
